Graduate student opportunities at Lincoln University

The Lincoln University (LU) Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program strongly supports sustainable and organic agriculture by advocating to farmers the need to understand both the USDA National Organic Program and IPM for effective pest management in organic systems. The LU IPM program is hiring one casual employee to support entomological research from 1 May to 15 August, 2013. The successful candidate will first learn about sustainable / organic agriculture as well as concepts and applications of IPM and Entomology and will also produce experimental plants in the greenhouse. During the summer months she/he will be responsible for executing research activities at the LU organic research (Busby) farm and will also travel to organic farms to support on-farm research thus providing technical support to farmers while getting hands-on experience in organic farming and organic pest management.
